Below an overview of lichen species found on stone, trees, wood and soil in (sub)urban settings. The photo gallery roughly covers the species featured in the Urban Lichen Guides 1 and 2 by the Field Studies Council (with some deletions and additions), but adds links to additional photos and species descriptions. Though representing a good cross section of the most common species found in (sub)urban settings, the list doesn’t necessarily represent all species found in these settings.
