Derek Yee and Eddie Peng denies rumours of a rife

29 Jan – Hong Kong director Derek Yee and actor Eddie Peng have both dismissed rumours about a rife between them.

The "Triple Tap" director last week triggered speculations when he turned to Weibo and expressed his anger towards actors who fail to focus on filming his movie.

Derek, known for his strict and demanding disposition, spoke about unreasonable demands that certain actors have in their contract, and expressed his annoyance with those who like to be involved in several projects at once.

Though he did not name any actor, tabloids speculated that the director was talking about "Unbeatable" star, Eddie Peng.

It was alleged that the actor was originally cast in Derek's new martial arts film, "Death Duel", but had also signed to play a role in Zhang Yibai's "That Rushed Year" in March.

The actor also reportedly stated several demands in his contract, including preparing his own make-up and style team, as well as working only 12 hours per day which included travelling time.

The tabloids alleged that Derek was so angry with Eddie that he replaced him with supporting actor, Lin Gengxin instead.

However, the rumours were debunked by both parties recently. While Eddie's manager, Xu Jialing stressed that the relationship between Eddie and Derek has always been good, Derek joked, "Eddie, you must have offended the Hong Kong tabloids for them to write such a report! Friends, you should help this poor kid now!"

However, Derek refused to reveal the actor who he was talking about, and hopes that the media would stop making speculations.
