Rain Li caught in ugly divorce battle
28 Sep – Actress Rain Li found herself caught in an ugly divorce battle between Daneil Lam, the Chairman of Universal International and his ex-wife, Chiu Suet Ying.
According to Popular Asians website, in the many accusations thrown by Chiu Seut Ying towards Daneil Lam, she also mentioned Rain Li's name. Chiu claimed that Lam had forced the actress to give sexual services to businessmen while she was a contracted artist, stating that Li had complained to her about it.
Chiu also claimed that one of her terms in the settlement included the termination of Rain Li's contract.
Meanwhile, Lam claimed that it was a slander on his part, saying that Chiu wished to use an actress in the case to get a bigger reaction from the media. Chiu dared her ex-husband to sue her, insisting that Rain Li had once begged for her help.
Meanwhile, Rain has issued a press statement denying that she was coerced to provide sexual services. The actress stated that the case has subjected her to be innocently implicated in rumours that may damage her image and career.
Rain Li also insisted that she has been pursuing her career in a healthy and positive way and will not be afraid to sue anybody who threatens her reputation.
