This is an example of a nursery rhyme that Lewis Carroll put into his books.   Carroll cast Tweedledum and Tweedledee in THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS and gave them excellent roles to play. They have a confounding conversation with Alice and recite the also famous poem THE WALRUS AND THE CARPENTER.

THE TWEEDLES rhyme, was one of those from ALICE with which I was unfamiliar. I knew the characters from the book/movie, of course, but not the originals from the rhyme.
