Family:
Asteraceae (Aster)

Comments:
Masses of small, golden yellow flowers are arranged in compound heads. The flowers are sweetly scented and are visited by bees and butterflies in summer. The fruits (cypselae) are not adapted to long distance dispersal, because the pappus is very small. However, being so light it easily be blown away by the wind, or drift off in streams.
