VII2U5
IRL Information Before killer whales and polar bears, before sharks and tyrannosaurs, the world’s top predator was probably a bizarre animal called Anomalocaris. It lived in the Cambrian period, over half a billion years ago, when life was confined to the seas and animals took on bizarre shapes that haven’t been seen since. Many scientists believe that Anomalocaris ruled this primordial world as a top predator. At up to a metre in length, it was the largest hunter of its time. It chased after prey with undulating flaps on its sides and a large fan-shaped tail. It grabbed at them with large spiked arms. It bit into them with a square, tooth-lined mouth. And it tracked them with large stalked eyes. Dossier Wild Like most of the Island's inventebrates, Anomalocaris Armis is an excellent hunter, that inhabits waters of the Island. The tentacious and long mouth appendages of the Anomalocaris are an excellent for capturing fish-like prey. An Anomalocaris will not disdain to feast on small terrestrial animals and survivors who suspect nothing while swimming across a reservoir full with Anomalocaris. It's lateral plates not only provide excellent protection, but are also a great adaptation for swiming, making the Anomalocaris one of the fastest aquatic beasts of the Island! I noticed that wild Trilobites rush to flight when an Anomalocaris is near, even that none of Anomalocaris showed any obvious signs of interest in them. Domesticated This amazing creature combines excellent maneuverability in wather and good defenses, thanks to the incredible shell that covers it, which when harvested provides chitin for days! Anomalocaris' meat turns out to be a delicacy adored by many aquatic and even amphibious creatures! During my wanderings around the island, i met a group of survivors that figured out how to domesticate these creatures. They brought them out of the wather and weared them like some kind of armor. They say that when worn, it doubles the stats of its wearer's armor. During one of the demonstrations, they showed me the ability of anomalocaris to be almost bulletproof, half of the bullets from the clip fired at the beast ricocheted off its hard shell, this is one hell of a bulletproof vest let me say! They were so interested in my studies that they were generous to share the secret of how to tame them! As far as I understand, first of all, you need to inflict some damage on an Anomalocaris, thereby exhausting him and after that starts the feeding stage. They found out that captured Trilobites seem to be the perfect snack for an Anomalocaris. Utility Early game 1. Easy tame to quickly get around in the wather for the sake of gathering resources or exploring. 2. Easy access to chitin when killed and harvested. 3. "Shrimp Meat"- a new meat type that can be harvested from an Anomalocaris. Serves as the ultimate food for taming water and amphibious tames. Late game 1. Anomalocaris is a shoulder pet, that doubles the player's armor stats when picked up.2. "Ricochet" - a new buff, that can be activated in the R radial menu. Upon activating it affects the player and the creature they ride but with the cost of the player's armor durability. This buff has 5 tiers that depend on how much armor the player is wearing. In other words, if the player is wearing at least one piece of any type of armor, let's take boots for example, then the buff will be at tier 1. And accordingly, with each piece of armor put on, the buff tier is higher. So, what do these tiers do? They affect the chance of projectiles bouncing off of you. And i mean ANY projectile, even missiles! To put it simply: each tier adds 10% to the buff. So tier 1 will reflect projectiles with the chance of 10%, tier 2 will reflect 20% an so on up to tier 5 which will reflect projectiles with the chance of 50%. The projectiles literaly bounce off, everywhere, returning the damage back to your enemies (think of it like Velonasaur's RMB attack). On tier 4 and 5 the buff even saves you from enemy creatures' bites, making them deal 80% less damage than usual. 3. Baby Anomalocaris are the kibble equivalent for taming Shadowmanes. Both adult and baby Anomalocaris can be caught in the fish basket. Taming Taming mechanic similar to the Shadowmane but in order to feed one the player will have to damage it first. When the Anomalocaris' HP reaches 20%, the second phase begins. Now the player must lead the Anomalocaris ashore and feed it Trilobites. Trilobite's LVL affects the taming effectiveness, so in order to tame a perfect Anomalocaris the player has to find and catch the best Trilobites there can be. Breeding The conditions for mating are the same as the Megachelon's, plus the female Anomalocaris must be fed a Deseased Leech from the fish basket. DobridJenkins
So, I’ve had a lot of ideas about Dino’s for Ark, but funnily enough, most of them have been added. This little guy though, I think, would add a little more personality to Ark’s oceans! I present, Anomalocaris! Anomalocaris piscimessorem Wild Anomalocaris has adapted well to the Ark’s unique environment. They swim in shoals of 4 to 8 members, and can flee from predators at surprising speeds. Whilst too small to hunt most of the Ark’s more dangerous ocean dwellers, these little buggers have a knack for hunting small prey, and have a personal preference for Cnidaria. Tamed Despite a small brain size, the Anomalocaris makes for a great pet! They’re surprisingly quick, able to keep up with most of the Islands larger sea creatures, and are able to crush the shells of the chitinous deep-sea dwellers with ease. The most useful ability they have, however, is both an immunity to the biotoxin used by Cnidaria, and the ability to harvest it in greater amounts, meaning more toxin for your darts! My thought process for taming would be a bug repellent passive tame. They’re little guys, and are only aggressive in groups, so they’re not too hard to tame, but they’re fast, so you don’t want to spook them! ivXnK
Name: Anomalocaris. Time: Cambrian. Diet: Carnivorous. Temperament: Aggressive. It is a genus of extinct animals, belonging to the family of anomalocarídidos, which is related to arthropods. Anomalocaris are estimated to have existed from approximately 520 to 499 million years ago. Anomalocaris is believed to have occupied the top of the food chain in the Cambrian oceans. Wild: it is a solitary creature of the depths, of rare appearance, it can be found in the same places as the Angler Fish. An Anomalocaris does not hesitate to attack anyone who enters its territory, it could be said that they are not afraid of anything, they have formidable resistance due to their exoskeleton, although this does not limit their great speed. Taming: It consists of giving it dead trilobites, if you get too close it will attack you, once it eats enough it will be tamed. Domesticated: the Anomalocaris's way of riding is the same as that of the Diplocaulus, the attacks of the Medusas and Eels do not affect it, its bites generate a lethal bleeding due to the barbed appendages it uses to carry the food to its mouth, it has an ability detection thanks to his unique eyes, he also has an intimidation ability that can scare away even megalodons (this ability needs to be recharged). Gathering: Fish Meat, Premium Fish Meat, Normal Meat, Prime Meat, Biotoxin, Angler Gel, Pearls, Black Pearls.
KAMIKAZY
Hi. I made a Anomalacaris Dossier back in 2016. I will repost it. Hope one day we see this cambrian apex in ark! Back then there were no black pearls. But if it was today I will put him as the best harvest of that resource from trilobites and sea scorpions for sure! And with a saddle also Cheers
KEI08
I want Anomalocaris to be a creature with different appearances and abilities in males and females. wild male It is about 1m size and inhabits shallow waters and wide rivers. Neutral to survivors. Female It is 3 to 4 meters long, larger than males, and lives in the deep sea. The staple food is ammonites. They are very aggressive and will attack even when mounted on large creatures. Taming male Grab and feed a tamed trilobite. Female Feed it ammonite bile to make it passive and steal eggs from its abdomen. Eggs can be placed in a tamed male Anomalocaris inventory to be fertilized. Ability after tame male It acts as an armor by attaching it to the survivor's back (defense is determined by the melee value). You can use it on land by keeping the canteen in his inventory. For underwater, you can also move quickly like a Tek Chestpiece. Female You can ride with a saddle. Disables ammonite calls for help, allowing ammonites to be hunted safely. You can also use ammonite bile to create a panacea that cures all poisons and diseases.

Jaden13135
Scientific Name: anomalocaris letum Genus: anomalocaris Closest Relative: anomalocaris canadensis The shale is a large, semi fantasy species of aquatic shellfish. It is based off the Anomalocaris canadensis and is about 3 meters long and one one meter wide. It would have a venomous bite that would deal damage over time, similar to the thyla, but only dealing 1% of health over time. They would be solitary, predatory creatures that have a balanced health to damage ration. It would be a passive tame, requiring the player to sneak up behind the creature and feed it fish, similarly to the hesperornis. It would take reduced damage from ranged attacks and would be immune to the tusoteuthis' grab. It's saddle would provide oxygen and look similarly to the roll rat and andrewsarchus saddles. It would have a speed somewhere in the middle of the Ichthyosaurus and the Megalodon.
Andre1993
Deals double damage to Trilobites and Racoscorpion. Excellent at collecting black pearls, can capture medium-sized creatures in its tentacles, for example, a parasaurus that fell into water, diving to the bottom to drown its victim...attacking with slow pauses, stuns creatures with a light stun to stun thanks to developed eyes, increases the range of vision under water, sees creatures with low health and oxygen...has a large radius of aggression.. Runs away from the survivor for unknown reasons. Possessing an average escape speed... During the chase, an inexperienced survivor can lead to terrifying predators, such as plesiosaurs.
