Unused Graphic

Located in the gameplay HUD assets, present in folder PLAY, is a banner for a long version of the song ONE NIGHT IN ARABIA. While a short version of the same song made it to the final game, no long versions ever appeared in the ParaParaParadise series.

Build Date

A build date is present in the title of the game's main ISO file:

Japan Japan v1.1 Korea
VOL_20000806034542
VOL_20001025194819
VOL_20001213210020

Security Strings

The files gq977-ja (in ParaParaParadise and v1.1) and gq977-ko (in ParaParaDancing) contain a set of security strings, six of which that form the message:

&NatsumiYu3minaZzxZ:cZxc
Beekids#Bunbun01Chamber*

"NatsumiYu" is likely a developer credit, considering a "Natsumi" was credited as a system programmer for the arcade version of KeyboardMania, also released under the Konami FireBeat system.

Also, a seventh string, which is also present in many other FireBeat games, has another programmer credit:

MoDe:SeRViCe/PRoGRaMeD BY USR01979(HaJiMe SaiTo)

Revisional Differences

A month after the original release, a revision of the game was released in Japan, titled ParaParaParadise v1.1. Below are listed the known changes between both revisions.

Title Screen

  • The game's title screen was appropriately changed.
Original v1.1
PppAC-title.png PppAC-title11.png

Mode Select

  • The game modes were all available in one screen in the original release. This was changed in v1.1 so that the game modes were divided in two "folders": ParaPara and Freestyle, with the latter containing the Normal, Hard and Expert modes. The Enjoy mode was also removed in v1.1, although graphical data for it still exists.
