Keith Duffy is a jack of all trades from singer to actor there’s nothing this man can’t do.
Well, he’s adding documentary maker to the mix as he jets off to Turkey to find out everything there is to know about “the nation’s changing relationship with our smiles”.
The brand new show, entitled Keith’s Teeth: A Dental Odyssey, was announced as part of RTÉ’s new upcoming schedule for the Autumn months.
The promo video for the show’s launch shows Keith asking a classroom filled with students who of them would like whiter teeth? In a rather shocking display, the majority of hands in the room are raised.

The video moves on showing a clip of the Boyzone singer sitting down with Big Brother star Hughie Maughan. Hughie explained the culture around teeth and how it started.
Speaking on the documentary Keith Duffy said, “It was a real eye-opener and educational experience working on this programme.
“The history of dentistry in Ireland is both shocking and scary. We’ve gone from a nation that neglected our teeth, to a nation of cosmetic dentistry addicts in barely two generations.”
The description for the show reads: “Keith’s Teeth: A Dental Odyssey blends observational documentary with social history. He uncovers stories from Ireland’s dental past that are sometimes shockingly tragic.
“He also meets Irish individuals who travel to Turkey in the hope of reversing years of dental neglect through enticingly affordable cosmetic dentistry packages.”
Throughout the show he navigates the past and present of Ireland’s dental landscape, uncovering the hidden stories and raising questions about the consequences of our pursuit of the perfect smile.
Keith’s Teeth: A Dental Odyssey airs on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player at 9:35pm on Wednesday 27th of September.
