Ormosia nobilis - sirari (5 seeds)

Large evergreen tree native to South America that reaches 25-30 m in height. The imparpinnate leaves are up to 15-18 cm long. The fruits are dehiscent legumes containing seeds as large as a bean and have a very particular colour; half are black and the other half coral red. Due to their beauty these are used to make necklaces, bracelets and jewellery.

It adapts to all types of soil, as long as it is well drained and has a good organic substance content. Tropical plant for hot climates, it can be grown outdoors only where temperatures never drop below +5°/+7° c.
