What's on in Bewdley

Bewdley has a population of around 10,000 and is located on the western bank of the River Severn. It is an attractive historic town, with a fascinating mix of medieval, 18th century and more modern buildings at its centre. Once a busy River Severn quay, bustling with river traders, the western bank of the river has been landscaped. Today it offers pleasant views of the town’s Thomas Telford-designed bridge and its rows of Georgian townhouses and buildings.

At its centre is the thriving Bewdley Museum and attractive Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Gardens, with the excellent Garden Kitchen café. Since the completion of flood defences in 2006, the town has been better protected from River Severn flooding and this has enabled the development of attractive riverside pubs, bars and restaurants. The high street boasts a great selection of local shops, well worth exploring.
