See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil, Do No Evil.

The Three Wise Monkeys, but here we have a Fourth.

If you think about it though, all four would be wise, right? I won't get into the background of these because as I started doing some research, there are many different aspects on this topic, including this one from Wikipedia, “The three monkeys are Mizaru, covering his eyes, who sees no evil; Kikazaru, covering his ears, who hears no evil; and Iwazaru, covering his mouth, who speaks no evil. There are various meanings ascribed to the monkeys and the proverb including associations with being of good mind, speech and action.”

*See no evil.*

*Hear no evil.*

*Speak no evil.*

*Do no evil.*

If we could block out all the negativety and “bad” stuff happening, life would be much more simple, wouldn't it? Life would be ... happier ... if evil did not exist. But unfortunately, that's not the way life is. Unfortuantely, we are faced with challenges that bring us down.

But wait – FORTUNATELY, we can keep pushing forward. We can find the good in all the things we see, hear, say, and do, as long as we focus on the positive! Right?!

Now, the reason why I wanted to write about this today is, because first of all, for those of you who don't know, I wear hearing aids. I've worn them since I was five years old. And well, I've been without one hearing aid for about two months now, to which I have adjusted okay with – I've been managing and it's no. big. deal.

But now, just this morning, my other hearing aid stopped working. I think I could curse every word in the black book, as I will have to wait to get an audiology appointment and then wait for a new set to come in. The place I go to is located Downtown Toronto, so that's about a two hour drive (which, yes, I will have to rely on someone to take me, since, I don't have my driver's license).

I'm curious to see what the newer models are like. Ha – more so then finding out what the new pricing is like!!

Getting off track a bit, maybe ranting a little too much...just untangling my mind, is all...

As I talked to my husband about it this morning, I could feel the tears coming on, but I stopped. Dammit, I thought! Why now? I have been putting it off for a couple years now, wanting to get as much use out of them as I could, and also because of other responsibilities for my family. Family comes first, and, I can manage with these a little longer, I kept telling myself.

Now, “a little longer” is here, and I have no hearing aids, and yeah – with the lack of vision, I'm sure the “hear no evil, see no evil” part will become truth!! Meh, my fault for leaving it for so long I guess, so I will take the blame!!

But seriously, what can I do? I can't sit and cry about it...

I've ranted enough about this for today, and the fact, is life is life. I've already warned the kids that I have no hearing aids working, so if they need me, they are going to have to come right up beside me. At least a bonus to all of this is at least I can read lips – that will help out at least!! Wish me luck!!!

And, another thing is – as frustrating as it can be, we will just have to make do. I will have to make do, just take it as it comes. I do feel a bit sorry for my family though, but maybe, this will be a quiet time ahead for me?! Ha ha – we shall see!!

To you reading this – “stuff” happens. Life happens. We just have to take it, deal with it, and keep pushing forward and make the most of it!

I will leave you with this quote by Mahatma Gandhi,

Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.

Believe in yourself, believe in all the good you do, and find your happiness...find harmony and your inner strength as you continue each day with confidence and love! ❤️
