Teak (Tectona grandis) is an important timber tree and is widely distributed in Indonesia. Leaves samples collected from various areas in Java and Sumatera shown infected by rust fungus. The objectives of the study were to identify the fungus and determine its geographic distribution in West Indonesia. Identification was carried out by observing morphological characteristics and measuring the size of uredinia, urediniospore, and paraphysis under light microscope. The results indicated that the teak leaf rust is Olivea tectonae. The detected life cycle stage was uredinia only, while the other stages were not present. The fungus was observed from all samples collected from four provinces, i.e., Central Java, East Java, West Java and Lampung.
Tanaman tomat (Solanum lycopersicum L.) merupakan salah satu komoditas hortikultura yang rentan terserang penyakit. Penyakit yang dapat menyebabkan tanaman tomat kehilangan hasil hingga mencapai 86% adalah penyakit bercak coklat yang disebabkan oleh cendawan patogen Alternaria solani. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh minyak daun cengkeh dalam menghambat pertumbuhan cendawan A. solani. Percobaan dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus 2020 sampai Januari 2021 di Laboratorium Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Siliwangi. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode eksperimen dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan diulang sebanyak 5 kali. DAYA HAMBAT EKSTRAK KULIT JATI (Tectona grandis Linn F) TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN JAMUR PELAPUK KAYU Schizophyllum commune Fries2019 •
The aim of the research was to examine the antifungal activity and the most effective concentration of teak bark (Tectona grandis Linn F) extract in inhibiting wood decay fungi Schizophyllum commune Fries. Teak bark was derived from BKPH Ledok, Sambong district, Blora Regency, West Java. The Teak bark made into particle with size pass of 40 mesh and retained 60 mesh. Then one kilogram of teak bark particle was maceration with 10 liter of aquadest. The extract then mixes with potatoes dextrose agar (PDA) with several concentration i.e. 0%, 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75% and 1% and pour into petri dish. One isolate of Schizophyllum commune was put in the center of PDA in each petri dish then incubated for nine days. The bioactive compound of extract teak bark was evaluation used phytochemical screening. Result of the research showed that teak bark extract at concentration 0.25% and 0.5% has antifungal activity values was 27.98% and 40.38% and categorized as medium inhibition growth of S. commune....

The Influence of Tamarind (Tamarindus indica) Fruit Extract On Reducing Isolated Uterine Smooth Muscle Contraction of Female Guinea Pig (Cavia porcellus) Background : Tamarind (Tamarindus indica) is medicinal plant that is easy to get and has many adventages. Flavonoid, tannin, and some minerals in this plant have been supposed to be able to inhibit uterine contraction that could reduce menstrual cramps and decrease preterm delivery. Objective : To know the influence of tamarind fruit extract on reducing isolated uterine smooth muscle contraction of female guinea pig. Methods : True experimental with post test only control group design. Non-pregnant female guinea pig uterine strips in De Jalon solutions were contracted by 0,03 IU oxytocin and 3 doses of extract were added to the preparation, namely 2 mg/ml (P1), 4 mg/ml (P2), and 6 mg/ml (P3). Those groups were compared to positive control (only oxytocin induced) and negative control (without intervention). The contractions were recorded for 20 minutes and the result was shown in Labscribe2 software. Result : The result of ANOVA showed a significant difference between control group and treatment (p=0,00). The correlation test result showed that the higher dose of tamarind extract, the less contractions will be. Linear regression result showed a strong influence of tamarind extract on reducing uterine contraction, namely 84,7% with 4 mg/ml as effective dose. Conclusion : Tamarind extract has influence on reducing the isolated uterine smooth muscle contraction of female guinea pig.
ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon pertumbuhan bibit jambu mete pada perlakuan komposisi media tanam dan dosis pupuk urea serta interaksinya, yang dilaksanakan di Kantor UML Selemadeg Timur, Desa Megati, Kecamatan Selemadeg Timur, Kabupaten Tabanan dengan ketinggian tempat ± 200 meter dari permukaan laut (dpl). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama delapan puluh enam hari terhitung mulai tanggal 22 Januari sampai dengan 19 April 2014. Penelitian ini menggunakan pola faktorial dengan rancangan dasar Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan dua perlakuan yaitu tiga faktor media tanam (M) dan empat faktor dosis pupuk urea (D), dari kedua faktor tersebut terdapat 12 kombinasi perlakuan yang masing – masing diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Interaksi antara perlakuan komposisi media tanam dan dosis pupuk urea dan (MxD) berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) sampai sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap sebagian besar parameter yang diamati kecuali terhadap parameter diameter batang, rasio laju pertumbuhan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P≤0,05). Total berat kering oven bibit yang tertinggi dicapai pada kombinasi perlakuan M 3 D 2 yaitu sebesar 16,33 g, atau meningkat sebesar 80,38% dibandingkan dengan nilai terendah pada kombinasi perlakuan M 1 D 0 yaitu sebesar 9,33 g. Daun patikan kebo (Euphorbia hirta L.) memiliki banyak kegunaan sebagai obat-obatan diantaranya sebagai antiinflamasi, peluruh air seni, dan menghilangkan rasa gatal. Untuk menilai keamanan daun patikan kebo (Euphorbia hirta L.) dalam pemanfaatannya diperlukan pengujian terlebih dahulu yang dirancang untuk mengetahui tingkat keamanan dalam penggunaanya. Uji toksisitas akut oral dilakukan untuk menentukan dosis atau konsentrasi yang diberikan dengan sekali penggunaan (tunggal) atau beberapa kali dalam 24 jam. Land used for plantation forest is an activity which could increase carbon sequestration. InNTT province, can be found plantation forest of Teak (Tectona grandis), Ampupu (Eucalyptus urophylla) and mahoni (Swietenia macrophylla) spread on many place, in which the carbon stock potentials have not been identified yet. This research was aimed to achieve carbon stock data for teak species in mineral land plantation forest with extremely dry climate region through allometric model for improving forestry green house gases sequestration factor of two regencies in the Province. The result shows that highest carbon stock of teak forest in Kupang Regency refer to Ketterings allometric is 148,48 ton/ha, and referring to Pérez, L.D. & Kanninen allometric is 145,32 ton/ha, which occured in class III age. The lowest carbon stock refers to Ketterings allometric is 106,59 ton/ha, to Pérez, L.D.& Kanninen allometric is 107,04 ton/ha, It's occurred in age classV. The highest carbon stock of teak forest in Belu Regency refers to Ketterings allometric is 205,41 ton/ha, and refers to Pérez, L.D.& Kanninen allometric is 203,43 ton/ha, which occured in age class VIII. The lowest carbon stock refers to Ketterings allometric is 63,65 ton/ha, to Pérez, L.D.& Kanninen allometric is 69,29 ton/ha, It's occurred in age class IV. Both, Ketterings and Pérez, L.D. & Kanninen allometric gives the near same results. The trend of Carbon sink among age class of teak forest area in Kupang regency could be estimated and drawn by a very low slope line, and just the same in every class age wether refers to Ketterinsg or Pérez, L.D.&Kanninen allometric. Karena itu, peluang pengembangan rumput laut jenis E. cottonii sangat menjanjikan dengan pangsa pasar yang cukup tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui saluran pemasaran rumput laut jenis Eucheuma cottonii di Sumba Timur Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur. Data dan informasi dikumpulkan melalui observasi lapangan dan wawancara mendalam dengan pembudidaya serta dengan pengumpulan data sekunder. Data dianalisis secara kualitatif serta diuraikan dalam bentuk deskriptif dengan memberikan informasi mengenai saluran pemasaran rumput laut jenis Eucheuma cottonii di Sumba Timur.
