Indian Flemingia species are grouped under five subgenera, namely Chalaria, Flemingiastrum, Lepidocoma, Ostryodium and Rhynchosioides. Here, we revise the taxonomy of the genus (excluding subg. Rhynchosioides) based on the study of live material and preserved specimens. We report 21 species and one variety (22 taxa) in India, of which one variety is endemic, i.e. F. praecox var. robusta. All the taxa have been described, illustrated and their ecology discussed. In the process, twelve binomials (F. angustifolia, F. blancoana, F. chappar, F. congesta, F. grahamiana, F. latifolia, F. macrophylla, F. nudiflora, F. paniculata, F. stricta, F. wallichii and F. wightiana) and one trinomial (F. praecox var. robusta) are lectotypified. F. sericans and F. stricta subsp. pteropus are proposed as new synonyms for F. macrophylla and F. stricta, respectively. F. parviflora, an Australian species, is recorded for India. F. strobilifera var. nudiflora is raised to the species level and a new combina...

Checklist of fabaceae lindley in balaghat ranges of maharashtra, India2015 •
The present paper provides an enumeration of leguminous taxa of Balaghat Ranges of Maharashtra along with their habits, phenological deta and voucher specimen numbers. During the present work, a total of 123 species, 4 subspecies and 17 varieties of Fabaceae have been recorded for Balaghat Ranges of Maharashtra, of which 119 taxa are occurring in wild while 25 are under cultivation. The members of Fabaceae are dominant in herbaceous vegetation of the Balaghat Ranges. There are more species in genera like Crotalaria (23 taxa), Indigofera (16 taxa), Alysicarpus (14 taxa), Vigna (11 taxa) and Desmodium (8 taxa). Twelve taxa are endemic to India of which Indigoferadeccanensis falls into Critically Endangered IUCN Red data category. The legumes of Balaghat Ranges have many actual and potential uses such as food, fodder and sources of edible oil, natural dyes, industrial lubricants, timber and medicines. About 19 leguminous taxa are wild relatives of food and fodder crops have resistance ...
One of the grand tasks of current taxonomy is to prepare a checklist of plants of the globe. This work is largely based on collecting information from regional floras and databases. Till this date, the progress is relatively slow, as the number of common names, synonyms, poorly resolved aggregates is high. For this purpose regional flora, checklists and databases with reliable taxonomy and complete coverage of critically examined data are required. The majority of novelties come from the tropics; but certain areas remain poorly explored as well, and numerous species in these areas still await recognition. In the present work, the studied area is Vidyabharati Mahavidyalaya campus which is situated in the prime location of the Amravati city. Amravati is a district in the state of Maharashtra with its district headquarters situated at 20˚55ˊ33̎ N and 77˚45ˊ53̎ E. The district is situated at 343m (1,125ft.) asl. The present study deals with the floristic diversity of campus in the former sense, i.e., the number of individual species in the area. The present paper attempts to highlight the diversity of vast plant resources of the campus in a conservation perspective. A total of 91 species of flowering plants are documented in which 43 were herbs, 25 shrubs, and 24 angiospermic trees distributed in 22, 13, and 12 families respectively.

Legumes (Angiosperms: Fabaceae) of Bagalkot District, Karnataka, IndiaFabaceae Lindl. or Leguminosae is one of the largest families of Angiosperms. Due to adaptability in various climatic conditions, members of the family Fabaceae are worldwide in their distribution. Globally, Fabaceae is represented by 770 genera and 19,500 taxa. Bagalkot is one of the largest districts of northern Karnataka and falls under the Deccan Peninsular region of India. The study area (Bagalkot District) is a rain shadow region and remains dry and hot throughout year. During floristic analysis of the District the authors recorded 157 species of legumes, which is communicated here in relation to habitat, life forms, distribution, classification and their importance.

Birbhum is one of the smallest districts of West Bengal which is floristically very rich. In this region, there are many taxa which are not reported yet as in the form of flora documentation. During field survey 6 angiospermic taxa namely Careya arborea Roxb. (Lecythidaceae), Celastrus paniculata Willd. (Celastraceae), Coffea benghalensis Heyne ex Roem. & Schult. (Rubiaceae), Crotalaria verrucosa L. (Fabacaeae), Erycibe paniculata Roxb. (Convolvulaceae), Eulophia explanata Lindl. (Orchidacaeae) have been collected from the district for the first time. Collected specimens were identified by the reference of different floras and authentified it.

A CHECKLIST OF FLOWERING PLANTS OF SREE RAMU COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCE, POLLACHI, COIMBATORE, TAMIL NADU, INDIA2023 •
The present study was aimed at determining the vascular plant species of Sree Ramu College of Arts and Science, N.M. Sungam, Pollachi during February 2022 to July 2022. A total of 361 flowering plants belonging to 83 families and 278 genera were recorded. Among the 83 families, Leguminosae contributed the maximum (40 species) followed by Poaceae (35) and Acanthaceae (24). Herbaceous are the most predominant comparing to other life forms in the campus. This study provides baseline information for species diversity and also status of native and non-native species of the campus flora.

Palyno-taxonomic studies of some tree species of Fabaceae from Sajjan Niwas Bagh of Udaipur District, Rajasthan, IndiaGreen corridors are the key elements of urban ecology. These corridors include both new inceptions and historical gardens. Udaipur the historically glorified city of Rajasthan state holds Sajjan Niwas Bagh is popularly known as gulab bagh as one of the rich urban biodiversity hotspot. It bears numerous tree species among which Bauhinia variegata, Cassia auriculata, Delonix regia and Erythrina indica of Fabaceae family can be cited for it’s outnumber. These tree species contribute allergenic composition of the area from January to May of the pollen calendar cycle, but their morphological and morphometric analysis scarcely hit the prevailing studies. The present study deals with pollen morphological observations, viability and germination. The morphometric observations were recorded by scanning electron microscopy and it shows that pollen grains of all the studied species differed in shape but except Erythrina indica they were tricolpate. Percent viability and percent germination of B...
