The script is well-written and faithful to the book by C.S. Lewis. The actors are well-cast and the cinematography is beautiful. The witch portrayed by Tilda Swinton is ruthless and violent--more fearsome than the witch in the milder BBC version some years back. I read that C.S. Lewis did not intend this book to be a Christian movie, but the parallels are undeniable, especially the scene of the sacrifice on the stone table where Aslan died in the traitor's stead, complete with a resurrection and the defeat of the witch at the final battle. Some scenes may be scary and intense for small children, but adults will find it enjoyable. I saw it in the theatre years back, and have recently watched it again, years later--still a great movie.
