I find this movie to be great, for kids young & old
I understand if you dislike this movie. I have found this film to be a blast. For one, Garfield was a pleasure as I was growing up, being a Garfield fan for a while, I have never heard of this movie until 2010 when I have gotten a DVD of this movie from WalMart, I haven't sat down and watched the whole film, that was until mid-April, when I have ordered this product on VHS, one reason I got this is I am a VHS collector, after viewing it, I have became an instant Garfield fan. Thus stating, I have made this my most favorite film I've seen, next to Storks, Nine Lives (2016), Zootopia & Inside Out (2015). I can tell you, Garfield fan or not, I recommend this film if you're planning on watching it, you'll like it, but not as much as I did.

I have always loved garfield, he was my favorite comic to read. I had wanted to see this movie for a long time but so many people around me said that it was terrible that I avoided it, worried that it would not be true to the comic and that it would be as terrible as people said. Okay so after watching it I can say It wasn't true to the comic. Jon is not as much of an idiot, he gets the girl in the end and he lives in a nice house instead of a broken down place with ripped up furniture!!
However, being untrue to the comic did not make it terrible, just the oposite in fact I love it!! I love who they picked to play my charactures and Nermal was great even though in the comic he is a striped grey kitty and they made him a slightly unintellegant siamese. Anyway if you don't get hung up on all the ways the movie is not like the comic it is hilarious, touching and fun. Great to just relax, unwind and just stay garfield cool!!

"Garfield - Der Film" ist ein wunderbarer Spaß für die ganze Familie. Vor allem durch die super Synchronisation von Thomas und natürlich die tolle Animation von dem kleinen fetten Kater. Die Special Edition ist im Großen und Ganzen dieselbe wie schon die erschiene Special Edition in Felloptik. In dieser Ausführung findet man ein paar Werbeflyer sowie Weihnachtskarten mit Garfieldmotiven. Als Extras gibt es einiges zu sehen. Leider war der Kurzfilm mit Scrat aus  Ice Age / Ice Age 2 - Jetzt taut's (2 DVDs)  und daher nicht neues. Dennoch waren die Spiele und auch die nicht verwendeten Szenen richtig schön - auch für das Größere Publikum.

Kurz zur Story: Garfield ist faul und dick. Als sein Freund und Besitzer einen Hund namens Odie nach Hause bringt, ist Garfield nicht sehr erfreut. Er möchte Ihn verjagen und aus dem Haus locken. Leider wird der Hund entführt und nun macht sich die Dicke-Mietze auf die Suche nach Odie.

Die Gestaltung des Steelbooks ist sehr schön geworden und auch das Menü hat man toll gemacht. Ist genauso wie bei der ersten Veröffentlichung.
