I've owned dozens of tire pressure gauges over the years of varying levels of quality, but all low cost or freebies.

I finally pulled the trigger on this one and am very pleased with my decision.
I was considering this and the Motion Pro Professional gauge. I liked the Motion Pro features and looks better but, since they moved production to Taiwan I went with the US made Intercomp and saved $25 in the process.

Aside from the aesthetics the only feature the Motion Pro has over this Intercomp is that the hose swivels at both ends. You immediately realize why this is beneficial the first time you use this gauge. Not enough to be a problem but it would be perfect if the hose swiveled at both ends.

The gauge face is large and easy to read. Filled with glycerin the instructions say to open the cap and vent it the first time you use it. Be careful when you do this, I used a thin flat head screwdriver to pop off the cap and it promptly flew to the back of my bench so I had to spend several minutes searching for it. You have to remove the blue rubber casing to access the cap which is a pain but not a big deal.

The sweep of the needle is slower than I expected when I check pressures. The effect of the liquid damping. This means you have to hold the chuck on the valve a bit longer than you would for a non-liquid filled. Again not an issue just something that I hadn't experienced with non-liquid filled gauges.

Intercomp is a well respected and innovative company in the motorsports industry and this is a quality product. I don't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a professional grade tire pressure gauge.

I wanted a more accurate pressure gauge than what most non-professionals use. In fact, I have found that many "professionals" at tire shops use the very inaccurate ones where the stick pops out to indicate the pressure. Over time they seem to become inaccurate.

This one is "pro" quality with a fluid damped needle indicator. It does not read digitally which I find usually implies more accuracy than you actually get (my opinion). The fluid damping means you have to wait for the needle to get to its highest reading which is the actual pressure. This means it is slower to do one or all your tires. I found this was not an impediment for me. I would say you could easily read to quarter-pounds of pressure, which is very adequate for my needs.

Often tire gauges will not stay on the tire stem and you have to fuss with keeping the connector on, often losing pressure. This is especially important for bicycle tires but is very handy for car tires. I only had to make one try and it stayed on and did not leak any air and I didn't have to fuss with it.

It is certainly more expensive and far bulkier than the pencil type gauges. I prefer something I trust over the storage convenience. I would rather it costs less but you pay for what you get.

I used this to correct the pressure on my bike for a year and just found out it's reading five psi low. Luckily it's not being used for the bike anymore. I feel like it was working in the very beginning but I had nothing to compare it to. A friend of mine with 11 high dollar gauges qualified it's malfunction.

It might have seen a valve stem 30 times since I purchased it. No way to service it because it was just outside of warranty it's now a $70 paperweight. A lot of other people on here are talking about the same product falling out of calibration at roughly the one-year mark. I thought this was supposed to be one of the best brands out there? I have crappy store-bought dollar gauges that are more accurate and still working fine after 10 years. Going to pivot to another brand now since customer service at Intercomp essentially told me to pound sand. Maybe I should've known if it was really built well they would have something like a five year warranty for it. Almost like they are expecting them to fail.

FWIW one of their service technicians told me to remove the gasket to relieve pressure which means now I am endangering the fluid level and seeing as it is reading five psi low I don't see how that will fix it. Nonetheless I shouldn't have to be disassembling this thing this early on when it has barely been used and is genuinely in like-new condition, looks like it just came out of the box.

I would go to the cliché route of saying "don't buy this/save your money/beware, etc." but it's pointless. Just know that if you do buy one of these it looks and feels very promising but then when you find out how inaccurate it gets after a very short amount of time remember you are trusting your life to this thing if pressure readings are critical for the job.

Best $$ spent on this tool. I have wasted too much money on cheaper, innacurate gages in the past, dial and digital a like. Mainly for mtn biking, my kids bikes, and vehicle tires. So i usually went for one that tried to fit all this, but usually always had 2 on hand. This is no different. I use this solely for my truck and motorcycles. Find this highly accurate. Love the fluid damping, as with all quality dial gages they need to be fluid damped. Im surprised it is only $50ish. If I had paid more, the thought of its cost would have been thrown out the door the first time used. The swivel head is a def must, this chuck end is heavy duty both in its construction and swivel ability. Has never leaked on me once and engages the valve very well, always get the reading on first go. I would def buy it again if something happens to it, but wld prob mean someone stole it as this gage is built like a tank. Fantastic buy, dont hesitate to buy this gage. Spend your money 1 time and spend it wisely with this Intercomp gage.

This highly-rated gauge seems to be accurate enough; my tires are wearing evenly. But when the gauge is cold the response is very sluggish as the needle creeps around the dial. And the protective rubber cover around the dial was already cracked and coming loose when I received it.
