I bought this game for our Wii because my wife recalled on multiple occasions the pleasure of playing it on a coin-operated arcade machine. Now, my expectations weren't terribly high, despite well over a decade for technology to improve. But, there were multiple issues:

1. The sight on the screen that should help you aim is so slow to respond that you can't draw down on the bad guys before you've lost. It is actually better to learn to aim without it and hope you hit the guys the first time.

2. If you don't hit the bad guys the first time, an apparent bug keeps you from being able to use the remaining 5 rounds in your 6-shooter to put em in the ground. With the difficulty aiming, due to issue #1, the game was more frustrating than fun.

3. A bug keeps you from being able to win the showdown, during multi-player, which is the only way to continue the game if you've lost all of your lives (which is terribly common due to the other issues mentioned). No matter how well you aim, it just doesn't acknowledge the hit.

I don't think there's a way to patch a Wii DVD game, so there's probably no hope of this game ever getting fixed. That's too bad, because it really could have been a very fun game, if it worked.

We haven't played it, again, since the first night we got the game and picked up a couple of decent Nyko pistols at the local department store. The Nyko pistols helped a lot with the aiming and the built-in sights were much better than the laggy on-screen sight. But, distance shots are still very difficult to make fast enough and the rest of the bugs still ruin the game.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend this game.

i guess that you must have a special pistol for this game to work properly. I can not get pass the first draw down.

Wow, this collection brings me back. It works just as it did when I first played Mad Dog Mcree over a decade ago. It also has the same problems. Sometimes the quickdraw sequences don't respond quickly and the acting of the characters is like a B movie. All in all it's a decent live-action shooter.
