As Christmas approaches Katherine gets together with lifelong friend Katie to reflect on how their lives have changed since they were young. Katherine is Godmother to Katie’s eldest son Jac, a role which has helped deepen her own Christian faith, along with becoming a mum herself.
Not Just My Teacher – My Friend
Katherine heads to Cardiff to visit her singing teacher and now friend, Beatrice Unsworth. Katherine stresses the importance of giving her singing voice an ‘MOT’ when she visits Beatrice, and they consider how their shared Christian faith is key to their 20-year friendship.
How I Got My Faith Back
Katherine returns home to Neath and visits her Mum, Susan. They reminisce about Katherine’s late father, who died suddenly from cancer when she was only 15. In their home church of St David’s Neath, they light two candles for the second Sunday of Advent. Katherine reflects on how anger with God for the loss of her Dad caused her to lose her faith. But after Susan had a special moment of a strong Godly presence in the church, Katherine was impacted by it thousands of miles away in Australia, and it brought her back to believing.
