Meet Caroline Quentin

Caroline's is looking forward to being flung around the dancefloor!

In case you didn’t already know, we’ve got a TV legend in our midst. Welcome to the Strictly 2020 family, Caroline!

"I think in our mind’s eye we’re all Ginger Rogers, we’re all Cyd Charisse, and I think in reality I might be more Les Dawson!”

She’s best known for her roles in British TV classics Men Behaving Badly and Jonathan Creek, but her glittering career actually started out on the stage. She trod the boards at the Royal Court Theatre and National Theatre for many years, as well as starring in musicals such as Les Miserables and Me and My Girl.

Comedy also came naturally, seeing her perform improv shows at London’s Comedy Store and leading her to audition for future classic series Men Behaving Badly. Caroline was an instant hit and starred in six series of the show from 1992, before joining crime drama series Jonathan Creek in 1997.

Since then she’s landed starring roles in many hit shows, including Kiss Me Kate, Blue Murder and Doc Martin, as well as presenting several series of Restoration Home, The World’s Most Extraordinary Homes, Cornwall with Caroline Quentin and Caroline Quentin’s National Parks.

So Caroline’s definitely earned her place as a British TV icon, but what is she most excited about when it comes to her next big role?

“I think I’m most looking forward to finding out about myself and seeing if my ability matches my aspiration. I don’t know that it will, because I think in our mind’s eye we’re all Ginger Rogers, we’re all Cyd Charisse, and I think in reality I might be more Les Dawson!”

We’ll make a dancer of you yet, Caroline!
