Description
Begonia lanternaria is a rhizomatous begonia native to Guangxi (China) and Vietnam. Its leaves are large and asymmetrical, pale green, almost silver, and with a marked dark vein. The green stem is slightly hairy and its flowers are small, white/pale pink. In its natural habitat it grows on limestone rocks in humid forests, so its cultivation in terrariums, glass domes or greenhouses that maintain high humidity is recommended.
- Light: semi-shade, never direct sun
- Irrigation: moderate, avoid waterlogging and direct watering on the leaves
- Temperature range: 15 - 27 ºC
- Substratum: Loose mineral substrate rich in organic matter, we recommend our substrate for premium begonias
