General appearance
Body size small medium up to about 5mm long (excluding antennae & cerci)
Body color black in late instar; brown in early instar
A robust impression given by expanded mesonotum & enlarged femora like Torleya (but in two-tailed)

Head enclosed with a fringe of setae lateral marginally

Thorax
Forefemora realtively broad & flat

Abdomen
Gills II - V (gill II largest)
Abdominal terga I - X with well-developed midposterior tubercule & postero-lateral projection
Central filament greatly reduced to give a two-tailed impression (cf. 3-tailed in Ephemerellidae)

Distribution:
In Hong Kong, specimens are recorded from Shing Mun and Tai Po Kau Forest Stream.

Habitat: Larvae are found in shaded riffles associated with sand and gravel substrates in shallow and moderate to fast flowing streams.
