Description:
Basidiomata coralloid, 30–60(–95) mm high, 34–110(–130) mm broad, caespitose, densely branched, yellowish white, not changing when dried, palmately branched from flattened stipe immersed in the soil. Branches 1.5–2.5 mm diam., yellowish white, round in cross-section, dichotomous to trichotomous, axils V-shaped, apex subulate, rarely furcate (two-pronged fork), fresh tough and elastic. Stipe 10–20 × 2–3 mm, flattened, yellowish white. Context yellowish white, slightly coriaceous, dry, tough at the base of the stipe. All tissue unchanging where cut or bruised. Odor not distinctive. Basidiospores (3.5–)4.5–5.5(–6.0) µm long, 3.0–3.5(–4.5) µm wide, excluding ornamentation, ellipsoid, coarsely echinate, hyaline in 5% KOH. Ornamentation acute warts or spines 0.2–1.0 µm long. Basidia primarily 4-spored, clavate, approximately 15–26 × 5.0–10.5 µm, hyaline, clamped. Sterigmata 2 µm long. Cystidia absent. Hyphal system dimitic; generative hyphae with clamp connections, hyaline; skeletal hyphae hyaline, thick-walled, 2.5–3.0 µm diam. Hymenium ≤ 35 µm thick. Subhymenium ca. 20 µm thick, composed of hyphae, 2.0–5.0 µm diam., thin-walled. Context with subparallel arranged hyphae 2.5–5.0 µm diam., cylindrical and long-celled, some branches, clamped septate, slightly thick-walled 2.5–3.75 µm diam., ampulliform septa 3.75–5.0 µm diam.
