Elegia mucronata Seeds

Elegia mucronata, previously known as Chondropetalum mucronatum, Dovea mucronata, Elegia paniciodes and Restio mucronatus is a South African endemic se Western Cape Province. This makes an excellent accent plant with a neat, tufted and spreading growth form and large golden bracts. It flowers in spring and prefers full sun, well drained sandy soil and regular watering. It is cold hardy to about -4°C and tolerates a wide soil pH range. It can be successfully planted in seaside gardens, containers and used in xeriscaping or used as a plant in the shallows of a water garden.
