The name ADENIA BALLYI was given to the representative of the Passifloraceae family – Bernard Verdcourt in 1891. Caudex-like plant is found in Somalia. Aculeata is accustomed to well-drained soil with minimal water. To grow it needs to be oriented in a moderate to strong sunny position. The plant produces a caudex up to 100 centimetres in diameter. One of its typical features are the thorns growing from the liana-like stipules. It is often confused with ADENIA GLOBOSA. It has a very large number of green-cream coloured flowers at maturity.
