The leaves are simple or with 3 leaflets. They have scalloped margins. The trunk is smooth and reddish grey.
Blooming Habits:
The Torote Prieto blooms in the fall, with tiny flowers. They are followed by ovoid fruits, up to 0.5 inches long (1.2 cm). The seeds are edible with caution.
