Blending high-speed races and dynamic crashes along with a cinematic storyline, Flat-Out comes to the Xbox with a number of features designed to set it apart from previous racing titles. Players can leave their car before entering a race to check out the competition at the pit areas, glean some information at the local bar, perform tune-ups, and embark on brief missions to further the story. The heart of the game is the racing competition, where players hit the pedal to the metal on a variety of outdoor venues. The environment is also interactive, to the point where cars can smash through wooden barriers, send piles of stacked tires bouncing along the road, and knock orange cones flying into the distance. A number of jumps are also available to catch some air.<br><br>Real-time damage modeling is another highlight in Flat-Out, with details such as engines, transmissions, and the driver viewable after smashing, crashing, and bashing into rival vehicles. Each part is designed to dent, crumple, crack, or fly off, and parts hurtling through the air can damage other vehicles as well. A total of 16 cars are available to drive, each with varied handling and characteristics based on their real-life counterparts. Up to eight vehicles can compete simultaneously on one of 45 courses, and players have the option to either repair or purchase new cars in between each race. Multiplayer options support split-screen and linked play as well as Internet competition via the Xbox Live broadband service.

A smashem and Trashem game worth owning!
This is another game like Test Drive Eve of destruction. Both these games are worth owning if you like demolition derbies and smashem racing on dirt tracks. To me these are the best reason to own a console to play these games and sports games. Leave the Great shooters to Pc's where they belong and are much better to play them on. If you own or are getting and Xbox get the High defenition hookup for a "high def" TV ITS TOTALLY WORTH IT and I think it looks almost as good as the xbox360 in some games.! Why I bought the game: I bought this game because I like to play racing games and this one looked like it would be a good game. What I loved and liked about the game: I love that it doesn't start until you are ready. I love that the little dude goes flying when you hit something. I like the realistic body damage and the cars handling goes down by level of damage. I like that you earn money by wrecking into things. I liked that the tracks were challenging (example: construction vehicles being in the road, debris falling on track when you hit something.) I liked that the damage to the track doesn't reset on each lap. What I disliked about the game: I didn't like that I played the game for four hours and am already a quarter of the way through it. I didn't like the cars, you couldn't tell ... Why I bought the game: I bought this game because I like to play racing games and this one looked like it would be a good game. This game is just completely awesome. It has great performance and insane graphics. You can race 16 customizable cars through 36 tracks that are set in FULLY DESTRUCTIVLE ENVRIONMENTS. You can cause even more mayhem in one of the three Demolition Derby Arenas. Plus, there are 6 driver flinging mini games including bowling, darts, and the High Jump. Scoring well in each activity earns you money to upgrade your car with. This game allows up to 4 players in split screen mode and up to 8 players with Xbox Live. Also, for more fun, the system link option (REQUIRES ETHERNET HOOK UPS)you can connect up to 8 xbox's for multiplayer with up to 32 players. I would recommend this game to any adrenaline junkie that loves demo-derby type races!This game is just completely awesome. It has great performance and insane graphics. I personally do not play these games, but my nephew who is 45 with the mind of a 9 year old loves the games, and calls me and tells me how well he does in the defeat of the enemies in the game... His explanation of the game tells me how pleased he is with the game Thank you (@_@)
