FERN-LEAF PEONY
Paeonia tenuifolia is a herbaceous species of peony that is sometimes called the fern leaf peony. The leaves are finely divided into almost thread-like segments and grow close together on the stems. This peony can reach 30–60 cm (12–24 in) in height. The scented red flowers have numerous yellow stamens in the centre.
These seeds are really good germinators, as we have tested them ourselves! They very-much need the cold treatment mentioned in the germination information below, or they will not grow. They take some time, but are really good growers with this procedure, and with such a rare plant, they are a gem to grow from seeds!

GERMINATION
As with many perennials, these seeds require a period of moist cold to help them break dormancy. This is done by giving them a cold 'winter' period (artificial or natural), and then a warming to simulate 'spring', and time to grow! Here's how this can be done:
Obtain a planting container that has holes in the bottom for excess water to drain. Place the seeds just under the surface of your growing medium, and water. Place your container in a cold area (but not freezing, perhaps a refrigerator) for 4-6 weeks. Once the cold period is completed, place the container at room temperature for them to germinate. Be sure to keep the soil moist during this entire germination period.
Alternatively, these seeds can also be planted outdoors in fall, winter, or early spring, while temperatures are still cold (but ground is workable) to germinate naturally in spring. Be sure to mark the area where you planted them, and that the soil is consistently moist.

Ferri Seeds ships to the USA! We ship there regularly and are familiar with how to get your seeds over the border safely to you. Unfortunately we cannot sell seeds to USA through the Etsy platform. Etsy rules don't allow anyone outside of the USA, to sell seeds to the USA. This is an Etsy rule only. We do ship to USA, just not through Etsy. Shop early for best selection! Due to inventory shortages, and increased demand worldwide, many seeds sell out quickly and we may not be able to obtain more for some time. Thank you for your understanding.
IMPORTANT
Your seeds are best planted right away. If you are not able to, they are best stored in a plastic zipper bag and placed in a dry cold location or refrigerator until you are ready to plant them. Be sure they are clearly labelled.
Do not eat the seeds or any part of the plants that they produce. Due to the fact that about 80% of all plant species are not edible (contain toxins/poisons of some kind) these are likely to be poisonous. Ornamental use only.
