Eucomis comosa is a very original bulbous perennial, often called pineapple plant because of the shape of the flower spike, which appears in the heart of summer. The 30 to 50 cm long leaves are topped with a spike of superb starry flowers, first yellow-green, then ivory white with a white-pink-purple center once open.
Plant in full sun or partial shade.
From the first frost the foliage disappears only to reappear in spring. It is a hardy plant.
In the garden, this very original plant thrives in the sun, it goes wonderfully with Agapanthus.
