Meaning of name: Erodium is from the Greek word erodius, meaning heron.

Distribution: Naturalized on the Coastal Plain and Darling Scarp from Ellen Brook to Boyanup. Also found at Cape Naturaliste.

Description: An annual herb with sprawling stems to 0.4 m long. The blue to purple flowers are produced from August to September.

Notes: Native to the Mediterranean.
