Stonehenge, Wiltshire

Stonehenge

Stonehenge is a World Heritage Site located 2 miles from the town of Amesbury in Wiltshire. This international tourist ‘honey pot’ is probably the best-known prehistoric site in all of Europe. A modern visitor centre provides a wealth of background information and a number of additional attractions, but the highlight of the site is the famous stone circle that is still shrouded in mystery in terms of who built it, when it was built, and what it was built for.
