Ruschia spinosa

Wonderful succulent with a strongly wild character, consisting of slender woody stems of whitish color that tend to branch abundantly and darken at the height of the internodes. At the apex of each small branch grow cylindrical leaves, delicately pointed and strongly fleshy, showing extremely soft glaucous shades. Among these delicate stems contrast pleasantly large and robust greyish spines in the shape of awl. At the apex of these thorny architectures bloom, between spring and summer, abundant clusters of fragrant purple flowers. Overall, the contrast that is created between the tendentially fierce appearance and floral elegance is absolutely unique!
