It is a collection of poems, prose and one liners. Based on darkness, cravings, love, self discovery, little moments, personal feelings, moving on, healing and collecting the pieces of your heart to mend it. It’s very well written and the author has explained each and every feeling or things she has been through very profoundly. It’s your guide to understand feelings and as it is from a woman’s point of view, you will get insight to her intellect as well.

Walking on the moon by Ry Reed is wonderful.
The poems and the lines along with the the title is just so real , it's like I'm reading my journey in love and heartbreak. Every single line is written wonderfully and whosoever has loved someone will relate to it.
My fav line from her book goes by the title *whole wheat*

I don't read poetry that often but I really enjoyed this collection.

In her foreword Ry Reed says: 'I would write a poetry book like a classic love song, something you’d play (read) when you wanted to remember how good it feels to be in love."
She managed to capture the essence of love songs amazingly and I felt like her little poems could really be lyrics to songs.

I think everyone can find some poems in this collection that resonate with them deeply. I know I have.

Book: Walking on the Moon
Author: Ry Reed
Genre: Romantic Poetry
Pages: 404 (as per Goodreads)

📕 This is the very first time I got a book from the author for reviewing it. I was super excited and started reading it right away.

📕 The book has a very simple English, so you can go forward even if you are a beginner in poetry or in reading itself.
📕 The prologue of the book is very endearing and passionate, more like a love letter. It will sure motivate you into reading the book. That's what a prologue should do, right?
📕 Similies are important to enhance poetry. The author made beautiful use of them.
📕 Some poems as short as 2-3 lines were very meaningful and thought provoking.
📕 No cheesy and over-the-top lines, no creepy stalker kind of romance, no fake happily-ever-afters.
📕 If you want to know more about the book, I'd suggest you to read the summary on Amazon or Goodreads.

I started reading the anthology with a passing curiosity and some time to kill. I am accustomed to night journeys but today, for a change, I had an early morning bus and what better way to spend a journey than doing some reading. I've always been a fan of poetry and one of my favourite aspects about it is the freedom it offers to the poet and all the different perspectives it can explore. I was really excited for reading 'Walking On The Moon', as it was a collection of poems much different from what I generally read.

When I opened the book, I wasn't looking for anything profound and when I saw the length of the book, I thought that I might put this down in the middle since reading this much in just on journey would be too much. I had shoved in my earphones and I was playing soft heartbreak ballads which described my somewhat melancholy mood pretty well. Afterall, I was coming back from a trip to my hometown. I was coming back after saying goodbye to that one hardest goodbye. I didn't know what the theme of the book was and I was doing a blind dive. All I can say is that it couldn't have been more perfect.

Instead of putting it down, I ended up reading it entirely in one sitting and I love each second of it. Instead of relying on intricate poetic devices and metaphros, the poet focus on the one thing which always aims true. Emotions. The book is filled with raw emotion and that might hav been the reason I was on the verge of tears several times over while reading. Sometimes because of the pain in the lines, sometimes because of the pain envoked by the memories the lines brought forth in me. 'Walking On The Moon', is not just an anthology of poems, it's a manual for love. One thing I really liked about it is the way it cover several aspects of love. It talked about falling in love, being in love, opening up to love, learning to live with a bereaving heart and of course, most importantly, advice to all the lovers out there. The shifting perspectives from third person to first person add a certain effect to the book as whole and makes it seem all the insightful.

Initially, the fact that the titles were placed at the end threw me off because I'm used to reading and analysing the title first. Eventually, I realised that placing the titles at the end was a well thought out decision. The beautifully selected titles for each poem not only covers the essence of the poem perfectly but also sums it all up and ties it up with a ribbon. The titles were used as the last piece to intricate puzzles and I found myself looking forward to getting to know the titles while I read each individual poem.

Sometimes, it did feel like the poems were getting a bit redundant and repetitive. Some of them cover the same stuff over and over but the poet was able to pull me in to the zone of the book so well that I didn't mind being told the same things as long as they were in the same general theme. I didn't mind re learning the same lessons as long as I got to read them.

Love is the most powerful emotion in the world and it's the one thing that binds us all together. I recommend this book to everyone who has a heart, because that's all you need to be able to love. As for me, I love this book and I'm glad that I got the chance to read it.

In an introduction to the book, Ry writes, “I would write a poetry book like a classic love song.” This is very much the experience I had reading this book. Each poem reads like lines from love songs. They capture what it is to be in love, those unforgettable, passionate beginnings. And they might provide healing, a place of solace to those of us who have lost/fallen out of love. This collection celebrates the small, simple details. Some of the poems read like a perfect Instagram caption, they feel relevant to the ways in which we express ourselves. Agreeing with what another reviewer wrote, Ry’s writing shines best in her longer poems. The language and imagery is subtle, beautiful. We want to linger there. This collection is long and I agree that it might be stronger with less. Give the reader time to sit with the poem. I worry it is too easy to flip through the book quickly, as if scrolling through a social media feed, but perhaps that is the point/part of the aesthetic. Ry’s use of language and her point of view speak to what so many of us can relate to.

This beautiful book describe a person in love
The feeling of being in love or having a crush on someone
The feeling of a heartbreak even when you haven’t been through one …. Its just so serene yet so raw . If magic of love and its stages could have a book .. this would be it … Like the moment you start to read these pure words .. it feels like you are experiencing each and every word of the book in your own world …. ‘Try using these in real life’ the author reed said .. my advise .. surely do .. you might just move into the list of potentials or even more ..
Just moment you are alone with a cup of your favourite drink .. the words just start to reminisce through …!

I have never in my life read a more beautiful pieces for love ,affection, care , heartache , and all that one can think of ..
it is serene yet the world hit you like a reality check ..!

A magical book
Thank you so much Ry Reed for the opportunity!!

Walking on the moon is a collection of poems and one-liners on what falling in love feels like ❤️.

The poet has beautifully expressed her thoughts, her feelings using simple and uncomplicated words which will touch your heart ❤️ 🥺. Her poems are based on hopelessly falling in love, craving for love and care, self-discovery, moving on, and healing. She has explained every feeling and emotion through her words👌. Her words speak to us many things that I am sure many of us can relate to.

I found many of her poems which reverberated within me leaving behind a drop of tear in my eye! Yes, I was so touched by her poems!

Overall this book is worth a read. It left me speechless! And I am surely coming back to this book from time to time.

You know I've never been in love with someone romantically. The poems perfectly portrays how it is to be in and out of love. The heartbreaks and the butterflies. I don't want to ruin the fun of reading beautiful poems written by the kindest and purest soul I've come across via her work! The poems are yours to read and maybe don't try to make sense of anything at all. Just read and savour each word written. This is the perfect break I needed in the midst of my superficial chaotic life. 10/10 recommended, you won't be disappointed I know that one thousand percent! Even if your native language isn't English, trust me you'll understand everything. The use of language is so simple but poetic at the same time! Damn I'm impressed!!! The book is not only about love but many things in between. Self discovery, healing and more.

The color of love in your words
Glittered the dramatic dreams
The beauty hidden inside the imagines
Sprinkled the enchanting beams
The Purity i found in your visage
Mesmerizingly shifted the cream
The vibes i felt while reading the lines
Dazzled like a morning gleam
The beauty of perceiving the world
Flourished the foolishly stream
The fairy queen of wisdom
Named as ry reed flirt and flew.
Your walking on the moon
Captured the nurturing sight
You are the moon enlighten even
in the gloomy night
You are the moon light up
the dum sick minds
Your lustrous light of words
shines like a Bright Love.
Your humanistic vibe touches
the depth of ones heart directly.
Your affectional way of treating
is heart touching i must say.
You are a beautiful butterfly
You are a princesses of ones eye.
Regarding you the humble & kind.

Full disclosure on this review, I didn’t read the whole thing. Ry Reed was generous in letting me sample her books, and so far I have loved it but this one confuses me. The introduction sets you up to expect love poems you would want to send to your lover or love of your life, but the ones I read were awfully sad. More along the lines of lost love or broken love, not like a love note. The poems themselves weren’t the problem, just the intro made me look for something different.

But remember I didn’t get to read them all, so you might find the opposite! Poetry is funny like that. Personally I think it is very hard to review because poetry is only good if you connect with it (in my opinion) and it is nearly impossible to know if what connects with me will connect with you. I do like other works from this author, so I would suggest giving it a shot!

Walking on the Moon has alot of realistic emotions expressed beautifully through poetries. Love, lessons, vulnerability, heartbreaks, self-love all bundled up together in this one book. I was completely enchanted by the feel of all the poetries as they are highly relatable. It's apparent that the author has poured out her true feelings in all the poetries and it's beautiful how her emotions are intertwined with ours. The one poem i particularly connected with is , " Have you ever stared so deeply into someone's eyes and lost yourself looking too deeply into the depths of their soul? you forget how to think and move. Time is irrelevant. All other worldly matters don't matter".
I highly recommend this beautiful book.

This is the first time I got to receive a book from it's author. That explains how good the author is.
However, she penned the book, keeping in mind every little issue that's faced by us in every moment that impacts us a lot.
The poems in the book are short, yet a lot meaningful, instead of too prolonged ones with less impact.
Some of these poems give you relaxation and make you feel good, some of them give you tears and some remind you of all your memories.
Such a beautifully narrated wonderful piece of literature.
A must read one. Never would you get such easily understandable deep explained concepts compiled into wonderful collection of enjoyable poems.
I wanna thank the author once again for bringing forward such a great book.

Walking on the Moon by Ry Reed is an exquisite poetry book.
I'm not really into reading poetries but this book changed my perspective about them . Poems usually provide us with some sort of an insight and they always have those deep hidden meanings , which is what keeps me away from reading them. But WALKING ON THE MOON is PHENOMENAL . It simply talks about LOVE . And the best thing about it is that it describes love in simple yet impactful one liners . If you've ever been in love or have suffered heartbreak then this book is a must read for you. The book helps you get rid of anxiety and move forward . Ry Reed has done a phenomenal job and I can say that this is one of the most beautiful works that I have read .

The best place to heal is within yourself...

I was reading this book on one rainy afternoon. I just finished this book in an hour. Author Ry Reed had written her heart out about love, relationship, heartbreaks, healing, darkness, self-respect, moving on, toxic people, depression, cute moments in love. I related myself to most of the one-liners and poetries.

The worst pains are the ones we allow to happen over and over again.

She thinks better when it rains,
It soothes all her pains away.

The author wants her poems that were useable and sendable like shareable messages to the ones we love. The language is very simple and raw. All topics were well chosen. So, read this beautiful well-written soulful book and share the poetry with your loved ones.
Create smiles and laughter.

I don't normally gravitate towards poetry but I really enjoyed this collection! Now having read it, I feel as though I could turn back to any page and receive really good advice or be reminded of my worth.

I thought Reed's words were very relatable and to the point. I like the directness of the shorter prose and actually found that some of those elicited a more thought-provoking response. Though the collection itself looks a little intimidating when looking at the page count because these poems are relatively short, the blank space remaining on the page instead gives plenty of opportunity to reflect on what you've read.

A beautiful writing. Inscribed with emotions, this book deals with the finest relationship which human heart can afford, i.e. love. Love's life, love's a dream, love is goodness to power the realm. I have gone through the E-Book & amvery much keen to go through the hard copy. Suggestive of truth in expounding relationships, 'Walking On The Moon' sprinkles seeds of unsung thoughts in iur mind to ponder over them & sense the rhythm of reality amid all superficial allure.
All I can suggest is, the book is a mere flawless state-of-art work which potrays the work done on it by the Author in carving human heart into this pages.
Thanks again to honour me as a book reviewer!

Walking on the Moon is like the letters (or texts!) that you wrote but never sent. It is a heart that was once so full of love but is now somehow barren. The book speaks to all the hopeless romantics who long for some fairytale love and shows us how love should look like. The chapters would for sure resonate with you even if you're not the one to give or receive flowers.
This book radiates an old school energy that appealed the most to me. Overall, if you too have some letters in a box under your bed or texts saved in your drafts that are now worn out by time, go for this and hopefully you'd finally find the courage to send those out.

I really liked how the author is sharing her feeling with this two line quotes. I m really impressed by the way it is written. It is simple and and meaningful, short yet deep. For once I thought this book is explaining my life but there's a point where we all can relate to this book (especially girls).

This book has many sides like love, broken pieces, sad, strong, healing, power and wisdom. I actually loved all the side of the book. Author did really great work. I will recommend this to all girls to feel their power and boys who wants to understand a girls feeling. I hope I'll get to read this kind of books often by Ry Reed

Ry Reed is one of the most popular poets and this book “ Walking on the Moon” is a collectible edition of personal poems. The poems are marvellous. Ry Reed had different ways to convey deep emotions in easy words.
I got this book as a part of a giveaway. Cover of the book looks great but the content index format is what I really don’t appreciate much. This is 64 pages long, Poems cover various emotions. Each poem leaves a different deep imprint on readers' minds. Some of my favourite poems are “ So I learned”, “ Fit Together” & “ A Thousand Miles”.
I would recommend this to everyone who has interest in poetry. Her Poetry is very relatable.

So I am not usually one for poetry but this brought me a new perspective of what poetry actually is and what it can be
It is great for beginners who want to test a more modern poetry style as well as veterans of the trade because no matter what each page has a unique and beautiful way about them and also sometimes feels like a conversation you are having with you best friend about the trials and truths of love
I really enjoyed it and even added some of my favorites in the second picture if you want a taste of what’s in the book

The only reason I am giving this 4 stars is because poetry is not my thing, I am more into books. But I do get to say that this was the best collection of poems I have ever read. I felt that they were true, like I could feel the rough emotions behind them. my favorite was-
When I randomly thought of you in the bread aisle at 4:43 p.m., I knew it was love.

Whole wheat
That one got me grinning. She captures the beauty of love, heartbreak, happiness, sadness so truly, so real, its amazing. I totally loved it and would definitely recommend it to other!

This book is full of serious, heartfelt, and funny poetry. I loved reading and understanding the ways Reed conveyed her views on love, regret, confidence, and many other topics.

While some of these poems were short and sweet, others were longer and more deep and honest. Along with that, I felt so many different emotions when journeying through this book. Both a sort of anger and a sort of grief, but also comfort and acceptance.

Ry Reed's poetry is simple yet complex, and I would read it all again in heartbeat!

Hmm why did this break my heart and put it back in place in the space of 10 minutes?

Wow these poems hit me so hard I was on the floor, tears rolling down my cheeks, and a pang of nostalgia for something I have never felt.

The poem 'where you left it' was damn so powerful. Two lines of poetry, a flat line on my heart monitor.

What a wonderful way with words Reed has, and their poems are so impactful and direct you are in awe.

Will definitely read other poems!

PS: thank you Ry Reed for the giveaway copy!

I absolutely loved this book! The poems were so beautifully written, it was a pleasure to read the whole thing. Some were just one simple line each while others were comparatively longer. But irrespective of the lengths they were really well written. If you are looking for quotes for your Instagram story caption, greeting cards or just a poetic line that you want to send to your loved ones, you can easily find a pretty one from Ry's poems! I definitely recommend giving this book a chance

Poetry typically isn't my thing that I read. I wanted to give this a shot.

However, please understand that my rating is based on my preference for reading not against how beautiful the poetry was in this book.

If you love poetry, books that can give you that feeling long after you read then this book is most definitely for you.

I didn't however enjoy the book because I never can truly get in to poetry.

Some poems just touched me so bad. Ry Reed is just too sweet and a really soft spoken personality and the same is depicted in her writings. Her words touch the most delicate part of your soul and it's just so fragile that after every poem you need at least 10 to 20 minutes to merinate the thing and think about it and get over it. But I'm not like really into romantic stuff, it's actually not for me but it would be for romance lovers and who love good and abstract writing but still loved it

I honestly never expected so much reality and relatability. I need to say this, it's by far the simplest collection of poetry I have ever read. Hats off to the author, Ry Reed for putting up this fantastic collection of poems. They are minimalistic, simple and spot on. The emotions are conveyed effortlessly and again to mention, it's very simplistic and minimal. I don't think I will ever get tired of *reading* the poems on repeat.
