The flowers are large and have a faint aroma (not like the blow-one's-head-off divine scent of sambucinas I've smelt before). The leaves are very narrow and hard. There were other babiana growing alongside this species with much wider, softer leaves, and their inflorescences were only just beginning to show above the leaves.
Ooh just found the "Get recommended" option of B. rigidifolia - have no clue if this is right, but it sounds good (I am well aware that scientific names can be erroneous to say the least).
