This fungi is thought to have been introduced into the UK in the early 1970's it's common name is New Zealand Truffle. It is orange in colour with a granular surface,hollow and it is white inside they push up through the soil and have no stipe but are attached by a mycelial cord. I found 29 recorded finds in the Uk I have added a photo of the habitat they were found in on the grassy area next to the stone wall which is the other side to my garden another 3 have emerged today.
