Quickly working through the key of the Yorkshire Hawkweeds book.
Stem leaves more than 8
Middle leaves not clasping the stem
Stem leaves more than 15
Styles discoloured, phyllaries not lax.
Takes me to Sect Sabauda.
It gets a little trickier at the next stage.
Working through the section key.
Do that phyllaries have numerous glandular hairs? This is the difficult question for me.
There are definitely glandular hairs, the question is are they numerous?
If I say yes then...
Phyllaries/penduncles with numerous simple hairs - sabaudum forma sabaudum.
If I say no then it keys out as vagum forma vagum which is very common locally but when I take the long hairs on the stem into account it can only be sabaudum forma sabaudum.
