The 1994 model year was a good one for the SW20 MR2 chassis. This year brought a slew of revisions to both the drivetrain and chassis. A horsepower bump, now rated at 245hp, and exterior styling updates are the most notable. This January built revision 3 (Rev 3) 1994 Toyota MR2 is finished in Toyota's ever desirable Super White II (040). The exterior is in excellent condition and features an OEM front lip, active fog lights, kouki tail lights, and a period-correct set of Advan SA3-R 16" wheels wrapped in fresh rubber. The paint shines nicely and the body is in good shape with just minimal knicks and dings associated with normal use. The same goes for the body as there are always going to be a few inevitable door dings. Overall this MR2 is one tidy and clean largely OEM exterior.

Moving to the interior you'll be happy to find a clean well-kept cockpit with all the right upgrades. The dash is in great condition showing no major sun damage or cracks. The door panels are also in great shape without any rips or tears, although both door panels are missing the reflector lenses for the courtesy lights at the bottom. The driver seat has been upgraded to a Bride Brix reclinable bucket seat and shows no rips or tears, but does have some light staining from normal use. The Brix is a massive upgrade since it offers a ton of additional bolstering to keep you in place without making it uncomfortable on longer drives. The stock passenger seat is in great condition and is plenty comfy for those longer road trips. A Momo leather-wrapped wheel is a nice upgrade over the chunky stock one that buys you some additional legroom along with its sleek appearance. Finally, an aftermarket head unit and gauge suite sit atop the dash however are not currently hooked up. Luckily since the head unit was already replaced it makes it easier to swap out for something that will actually work stateside.

Mechanically this SW20 is powered by the 3S-GTE turbocharged 2.0L which was bumped up to 245hp and mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Part of the upgrades of the Rev 3 included updated synchros for the 1994 model year. The engine has received a few bolt-on upgrades that include an HKS intake, Blitz BOV, and Tanabe catback exhaust system producing a fantastic tone. Between the intake and Blitz blow-off valve, the 3S-GTE makes all the right noises both on and off the throttle. Especially considering they're all right behind your head making it even more pronounced. With a mere 121K verified miles the acceleration is brisk and the manual transmission shifts through gears smoothly. Tein adjustable coilovers help to cut down on bodyroll and the ever-dreaded wheel gap. Maintenance has also been brought up to date which includes a fresh oil and filter change, a new battery, new inner and outer tie rods, bellow boots, along with a new distributor cap and rotor button providing maintenance-free ownership until it's time for the next oil change in 3,000 miles. Even the timing belt was done just before leaving Japan, only 4K miles ago. Don't miss out on this excellent driving Japanese Classic that'll never go out of style.
