Introducing the captivating Eria flava, a delightful addition to any orchid enthusiast's collection. Originating from the lush landscapes of South Yunnan, China, this epiphytic gem thrives in the tranquil ambiance of sparse woods, flourishing at elevations between 800 to 1800 meters.

Eria flava boasts a petite stature, making it ideal for both warm and cool growing conditions. Its stout rhizome anchors the plant, with elliptic pseudobulbs spaced delicately between 2.4 to 3.2 inches apart. Adorned with lanceolate-oblong leaves, this orchid blooms with elegance in the spring, showcasing a basal, erect inflorescence adorned with 7 to 12 delicate flowers.

A musky scented, small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte or terrestrial in poor soil and light shade found on the island of Java as well as Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Sumatra and the Malaysian peninsula in evergreen lowland forests at elevations of 50 to 1500 meters with pseudobulbs that carry 3 to 4, lanceolate, tough, leathery leaves that blooms in the fall on a basal, erect to arcuate, to 8 to 12 [20 to 30cm] long, many [8 to 15] flowered, racemose inflorescence having a few scale like bracts with wool like hairs covering them.

During the blooming season, the floral bracts of Eria flava exhibit a charming ovate-lance shaped appearance, adorned with white or grayish yellowish cottony hairs, lending an ethereal allure to its presence. Notably, the species possesses a unique hinged, movable lip, which dances gracefully in the breeze, adding a dynamic charm to its floral display.
