As we reflect upon the significance of today's date in Oklahoma and our Country's history, we remember and honor the 168 lives lost and those forever changed by the tragic Oklahoma City Bombing on April 19, 1995. Though time passes, their memories remain etched in our hearts. Here on the Epworth Campus, we have a seedling from the "Survivor Tree." It is part of the American Elm that withstood the 1995 bombing and is still in its original location when it was planted around 1920. It is a living testament to the spirit of resilience and courage of the Oklahoma City community, the American people, and survivors everywhere #WeRemember

Emerging leaders in healthcare. We were fortunate to host 50 CNA students from Metro Technology Centers. The students had the opportunity to tour Epworth's healthcare households and Assisted Living. In addition, they were able to hear from Epworth Healthcare professionals to learn more about what they do and what opportunities exist for them now and in the future of their healthcare career. A new CT suite in the ER opened at Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City this week. The $2.6 million project was fully funded by Oklahoma philanthropists Herman and LaDonna Meinders and given in honor of longtime Mercy neurosurgeon, Dr. Richard Smith. More than 50,000 patients seek care at the #MercyOKC ER annually, and about half will need at least one CT during their visit. These are patients experiencing emergencies like strokes, trauma, abdominal pain, chest pain and other neurological conditions. We are so grateful for the support of the Meinders family. They have made a lifesaving impact on countless patients as the largest donor in Mercy Oklahoma history, with more than $16.2 million in gifts to Mercy since 2018.
