RickRoll your friends like a pro! If you are part of the lucky ones who never experienced it, #rickrolling is an internet prank that started in 2007, where you click on what seems a legitimate link and are suddenly redirected to Rick Astley's "Never gonna give you up" video. I wanted to reinvent this prank, making it a bit more subtle along the way. Here comes RickRoller! In my version, the prankster can craft a link that looks like a shortened URL, and when the prankee clicks on it he is redirected to what looks like a genuine site. The rickrolling only happens when he interacts with the page (click, 2+ scrolls)! Wanna try? Here is the live demo: tinyurl.eu.aldryn.io/ This project was an excuse at first to play with #opensource best practices, #githubactions, and more (see the README on GitHub to learn more about that). It turned out to be rather exciting code-wise, and I wanted to share some nice tricks I learned. So, heads up to my blog to learn more about rickroller, and how I made it come true! (don't forget to leave a star, a comment, or share the article, it will help me stay motivated 😉).
