Sharing an article on Parkia timoriana, the tree bean used in various culinary preparations in Northeast India. The population is on the decline in the last two decades, probably due to a fungal disease spread by insect vectors. The article suggests various measures needed to tackle the problem. Raising nurseries of this plant and raising plantations on a large scale can provide substantial employment in the region and can also contribute to greening, besides providing nutritional security.
