Another new Coffea species described! Important to make attempts to locate this species in the wild.

Coffee in Central Africa: diversity, conservation and valorisation

Today we are proud to announce the publication of a new coffee species from SW Cameroon, Coffea rizetiana Stoff. & M.Noirot. It is a new species with big, black, fleshy fruits, closely related to Coffea liberica Hiern and Coffea montekupensis Stoff. Coffea rizetiana is probably extinct in the wild, but living collections are preserved in the Coffee germplasm collection at Bassin Martin (Reunion, France) and in Meise Botanic Garden (Belgium). The paper is published in Adansonia: https://lnkd.in/dfY5W3gs
