Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture’s Post

For today's Friday in the Field, we're wondering how much you love blueberries? Are you as committed as Miing (pictured here) who has been helping our research team by counting blueberry leaves? This important work is part of a blueberry rust trial looking at which treatments lead to full defoliation over winter, and the impact on future plant growth and crop yield. Counting leaves is part of the pre- and post-treatment assessment, to determine what percentage of leaves were removed by the treatments. The project 'new on-farm strategies for prevention and control of blueberry rust' is funded by the Tasmanian Government's Agricultural Development Fund.
