This time last year we had great fun designing/launching the pilot of our gaming accelerator - "NEOM Level Up" - a program which provides funding and expert mentorship to young game development studios. Fast forward a year and, having supported 22 studios to date, it's an honour to be selected as a finalist for two MENA Games Industry Awards - "Investor of the year" and "Best game innovation hub/district". Beyond all this, it makes me super proud to see three of our portfolio companies also selected as finalists for "Best games startup". Following thirteen years at Codemasters (now Electronic Arts), I've made the decision to move on. What a ride it’s been… From producing titles with a world-class studio team to founding our Business Development department and owning new business globally, through a journey of shedding company debt, IPO/listing on the London Stock Exchange, growth as a public company and an eventual delisting/sale to EA... I couldn’t be prouder of everything we’ve achieved. While the path hasn’t always been easy, an incredible group of industry friends have certainly made it enjoyable. Exploring thousands of opportunities, executing hundreds of deals and surviving countless GDCs/E3s/Develops/ChinaJoys/Gamescoms has been a genuine pleasure (albeit sometimes a marathon) due to the fantastic human beings who populate and drive this industry. I'd like to share a heartfelt thankyou to everybody that played a part in the Codemasters chapter, whether that involved a fully-fledged partnership or simply sharing thoughts over a coffee at the Moscone! Joining EA presents a fantastic opportunity for everybody at Codies (and Codemasters' games!). My decision to move on is solely due to a unique opportunity elsewhere. I’ll be quiet for a while but will share more when I can. Thanks once again and I look forward to seeing you all in person soon.

What began as a relatively simple idea has evolved into a broader collaboration, with government, aimed at amplifying the "Stay Home Save Lives" message amongst young people. Hyped and proud to see the supporting coverage by BBC News, Forbes, MSN, iNews, The Guardian, and hundreds of other news outlets both domestically and overseas (with other developers now joining the effort!). A small contribution, but nonetheless it feels nice to do something to echo and support the Stay Home message among our gaming community. Whilst our target demographic isn't at the highest level of risk, the unfortunate truth is that the actions of young people during this time can have a direct impact upon whether the parents of others make it through the summer. Beyond simply repeating the Stay Home message (albeit important), a step of potentially greater effect could be to remind people of *why* it matters beyond a cough and a sniffle for those in their prime. Sadly that's not covered within this 950x150 asset.
