Eucalyptus macrandra, commonly known as the Long Flowered Marlock or Yellow Marlock is a small tree or Mallee growing from 5 to 8m in height and occurs naturally in scattered locations in southern Western Australia in coastal and sub-coastal areas from the Stirling Ranges in the west to the Hammersley Ranges in the east, usually in clayey depressions or river flats.

Bark is smooth and an attractive grey over whitish grey or pinkish grey, the juvenile foliage is a concolorous glossy green tending to olive green when mature and retains its foliage to ground level. 

The flower buds are elongated in an attractive light green and are the lemon to yellow blooms are very showy, they occur in large clusters from Summer to Autumn and are followed by decorative bell shaped fruit.

It is a nectar producing species that is both bird attracting and a good bee tree, tolerates moderate coastal exposure (recommended for 2nd line positioning), poor drainage, saline conditions and is frost tolerant and needs a minimum annual rainfall of 500 to 650mm.

It makes an attractive ornamental feature or massed planting and a good low windbreak.
