For “Shetland Summer” I played with elements of the Shetland Lace Knitting tradition. This pattern is also part of my e-Book "Midsummer" (see my designer page here on LoveCrafts).
In order to create the airy structure, I used a lace yarn with a large knitting needle size of 4,5 mm.
“Shetland Summer” is made in two steps. You knit the outer border first and continue with the triangle section by steady decrease of stitches. For me it was important that the corners are well formed and the upper shawl line is straight.

Yarn: 125 grams Jamieson´s of Shetland Ultra (195 m/ 25 g) - 5 balls - color: Frosted Grape
