Mark Soper

Mark Soper is an award winning actor, writer, and producer who has performed in some 40 stage productions in New York, LA, London, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and has had 12 of his plays produced.

As an actor Mark performed a season at Joseph Papp's acclaimed Public Theater, and a season at Lanford Wilson's and Marshall Mason's Circle Repertory Theater. He co-starred as "Chance Wayne" opposite Lauren Bacall's "Princess" in the National Tour of Tennessee William's "Sweet Bird of Youth," directed by Michael Blakemore.

Mark performed “the biggest, small part in contemporary cinema,” “Michael Milton,” “the gradual student” in the film “The World According to Garp.”   He co-starred with Sandy Dennis and Patrick O’Neil in “Vessel of Wrath,” with Tom Waits and Joanna Gleason in “The Mississippi,” and starred in “Parole” with Ellen Barkin and Jimmy Naughton.  He was a season regular on Knots Landing and starred in the recently re-released, re-edited, cult favorite ‘Nightmare on Shadow Ridge” playing the demented, twin sons of Louis Lasser.

As a writer Mark received the FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION AWARD 2005; The FRINGE REPORT AWARD 2007; was nominated for a PEN Writing Award for Best Play; nominated: Amnesty International Award for Best Play; nominated for Writer's Guild Award; and was the winner of the BEST TOURING SHOW IN THE UK & Ireland, 2006; and Mentor Prize Recipient.

As a producer Mark received a "Spirit of the Fringe Award;" two nominations for Amnesty International Award; one time a finalist; nominated for a Writers Guild Award, nominated for PEN writing award and he was awarded best touring show U.K and Ireland.
