Convicted sex offender pleads guilty to CSC

LUDINGTON — A 32-year-old man serving a 25-40 year prison term for first-degree criminal sexual conduct pleaded guilty to a high-court misdemeanor of fourth-degree CSC in Mason County’s 51st Circuit Court Tuesday, Oct. 31, according to court records.

Christopher Joseph Schneider is currently lodged in the Macomb Correctional Facility in Lenox Township, according to Michigan Department of Corrections records. His earliest release date is June 4, 2047. 

Schneider is also serving concurrent terms of two to 15 years in prison for two counts of second-degree CSC. He was convicted by a Kent County jury and sentenced June 8, 2023, according to MDOC records.

He is scheduled for a sentencing hearing in Mason County Dec. 12 at 10 a.m.

Fourth-degree CSC is punishable by up to two years in prison.
