The taxonomic status is pending for approval

Description

Vanilla griffithii is a very common species found in swamp forests and it is flowering in May. The stem of this species will climb with bearing leaves at about 8 – 13 m intervals. Its leaves are elliptic, fleshy and shortly acute. The inflorescences of this species measuring up to 8 cm, its rachis bearing fifteen or more flowers that are very close together and the floral bracts are ovate and acute. The flowers of this species are widely open and both its sepals and petals are white flushed pale green but sometimes yellowish. The distribution of this species occurs in Anambas Islands, Sumatra and Borneo. This species also can be found in all parts of the lowlands in Peninsular Malaysia and on trees in fairly open places.
