Description

Intro: 1875. Encountered for the first time by Russian botanist Przewalski in the province of Kansu (northwest China) and distributed by Reginald Farrer. In 1914, William Purdom was on an expedition led by Farrer. In the same area, they again found an A. cyaneum-like form. The synonym was then named after Purdom for his efforts. A wonderful miniature that looks like a small lump of grass as it sprouts. In July, the blue bell-shaped flowers appear. Ideal for the rock garden or in a trough. Clud-forming growth habit.
