Movie theater owners announced that the second annual National Cinema Day will take place Sunday, Aug. 27.

More than 3,000 movie theaters nationwide will offer movie tickets for no more than $4 in all formats, including IMAX and Dolby Digital.

All you have to do is visit your nearest major cinema chain, including AMC and Regal Cinemas, or nearest participating film studio, if applicable, to see if they are participating in the promotion.

A few movie theater chains, like AMC and Cinemark, are offering food deals along with the discounted tickets.

AMC is offering $5 plus tax small fountain drink and popcorn combos.

Cinemark is also offering food deals, giving $1 off any size popcorn, fountain drink and candy.

Regal also has $4 small popcorn and soft drink combos.

The National Cinema Foundation launched National Cinema Day in 2022 to celebrate movies and bring people back to what had been a struggling film industry. Last year’s event sold movie tickets for $3, instead of $4.

Moviegoers can find participating movie theaters and movie showtimes by heading to National Cinema Day’s website.
